FYS Launches the Why Major in...? YouTube Podcast Series

We are launching a new podcast series designed to help you explore the colleges and majors available at Notre Dame. We hope that this will serve as a valuable resource in your research and discernment of your major. We suggest that you first listen to the initial podcast in this "“Why Major in…?” series. In this podcast, Dean Hugh Page further describes this initiative and helps to guide your experience through these podcasts. We think it is important to listen to all of the podcasts as this will help to ensure that you make the most informed decision possible when declaring your major. We will continue to update the First Year of Studies blog as we collect and publish more podcasts.

Start off with the introductory Episode 1 by the Dean of First Year of Studies at

Contribute to the “Why Major in…?” Podcast Series

Wanted
The University of Notre Dame First Year of Studies Communications Committee is working on a “Why Major in…?” podcast series that we hope will serve as a valuable resource for our students as they decide what they want to pursue as a major. We hope to create podcasts spotlighting each of the majors and programs available to students at Notre Dame. We are looking for deans, department chairs, and/or professors to participate at the University who are interested in recording (audio only) a 3-5 minute talk about their perspective disciplines.

Instructions
1. Listen to the 2 minute “Why Major In…?” Episode 1-Introduction to see an example of what we are looking for.
2. Sign up on our Contribute to the “Why Major In…?” Online Form in order to schedule a 5-10 recording session at the First Year of Studies
3. We will get back to you to schedule an appointment
4. View and print out the Suggested Script Checklist to prepare for your recording
5. Come to your scheduled recording sessions.

Thank you for your interest in participating in our project.
